Amanda came to visit me for a few days. It was great! I am really lucky to have a friend like her. We have been friends since eighth grade. She came to visit me when I had Logan and she didn't want to miss out on Kaden so she visited again. The boys are so lucky to have a serogate Auntie like Amanda. I really enjoyed her visit and was really sad to see her go. Both times she has showed up when I really needed her. I Love you Amanda and I am greatful to have you as my best friend.

A week before Kaden's arrival

Kaden's birth was a lot smoother than Logan's. It was a planned c-sect instead of an emergency one. I was able to get a good nights sleep the night before. I knew what to expect so I wasn't scared this time. I got to see Kaden right away I didn't get that with Logan. I just felt relaxed this time.

The down side was H1N1- Logan, My dad, Alex, and Emily were all sick so they couldn't visit. The hospital went into lock down @ five pm. So Leah, my mom, Judy, and Jason got in to see Kaden just before the hospital went into lockdown. Only one support person was allowed. We understood they hae to keep the babies safe from illness.

Logan's friend Ethan invited him over today to try out his slip and slide. We packed a picnic lunch and headed over to Charlene and Ethan's house. We had a great time. It was fun to have all the boys together again.

Charlene, Leah, Jana, and I have been getting together since the boys were about four months old. We used to get together on Thursdays at Starbucks until the boys became mobile and wouldn't just sit there with us. I feel really fortunate to have met them. We all get along really well and our boys play really well together. Charlene and Leah are both teachers so they have the summer off. We hope to get a few more play dates in before the end of the summer.

The boys played on the slip and slide, played basket ball, and played in the sandbox. I did learn one lesson today automatically take Logan to the bathroom every hour when we are at a friends house. He gets to distracted when he is having fun and doesn't want to tell me when he has to go. This was his first accident in two weeks though so I am not complaining. Lesson learned.

The first big thing was moving Logan to his big boy room and bed. I wanted to keep the nursery the same so we moved Logan across the hall. He was really nervous about the new room and a different bed. He Loved his crib and his room. We put his ocean wonders music aquarium on his headboard and he decided his bed wasn't so bad. He has been sleeping in there for about a month now. He loves it.
The second milestone is that Logan is completely potty trained. He has been poop trained for about two months. He hated poopie diapers so that was easy for me. After I had been home for about two weeks I decided to start potty training. I let him go around naked and he had a few accidents , but then started using the potty. I bought pull ups and started using those and he would just pee in his pull up. So we headed to the store and bought 4 packs of underwear. He had three accidents the first day and has been dry for almost two weeks now. No Accidents!! I am so proud. He even stays dry through the night and at nap time. He hated feeling the wet on his underwear that first day. I am definitely in trouble with the next one there is no way it will be this easy next time. I am so proud of him.
I have three goals before the baby comes 1. Get Logan in big boy bed (Check) 2. Get Logan potty trained (Check) 3. Get rid of the paci at night ( We don't use it during the day but night time is still a thing). We will work on #3 I am not going to push anything right now because I feel he has accomplished so much in the last month. :)

My friend Jana called and asked if Logan and I would like to meet them out at Birch Bay for a fun morning. My friend Jana had been invited by her friend Kim and her family. We had a great time.I forgot my camera in the car so I only got pictures of our picnic. I was bummed because there were seven little boys playing in the water and on the beach. Logan discovered how fun it was to pee in the bushes with his friends. I wish I had a picture of the four bare bottoms. I hope to go out there again with all of them.

We had our annual Family Reunion. This was the twentieth year my parents have had it at there house. We used to have it up at my great grandpa's farm. They asked my parents to take over twenty years ago. It was a fun weekend. It is always nice to see everybody and get caught up.

We had a really fun day today Logan got to try a new thing today I cut his oranges into wedges and referred to them as orange smiles. Just by cutting them different and changing there name they were actually cool enough to eat. We got to have another ultrasound today. Dr. Cook couldn't get a good view of the heart at my 20 week so he wanted us to come back @ 26 weeks. Everything looks great. Healthy baby boy Ardt will be arriving on October 22nd via c-section. We got definate confirmation that we are having a boy. The bottom picture is the proof. We made this ultrasound a family affair Kevin,Logan and my mom were there. It was my moms first ultasound viewing. I am relieved that everything looks good.

What a fun day we had. We planned on going to Birch bay today, but we just went with what came up. We were headed north and decided to go to Hovander Farm because Logan mentioned it in the car. After Hovander we were going to eat our lunch and go home, But we ended up eating our lunch at Pioneer park instead. When we were done there Logan was in such good spirits we decided to go to Boxx Berry farm for there Raspberry Festival. We had never been to the raspberry festival before so we were surprised that everything was free (bonus). We had raspberry sundaes. Logan went on a train ride. We all went on a tractor ride where they picked carrots for us and let us tour the farm. Logan ate three carrots. They were so sweet. There is nothing like fresh carrots. We came home and Logan played in his wading pool. Now we are all relaxing. What a great day! Dollars spent today= $5 for gas. Yeah!!!

We had a great fourth. We started out the day by meeting Sherra for breakfast. It was really fun to catch up with her. After breakfast we drove to the parade in Oak Harbor. We got there later than we planned so we were forced to sit in the blazing sun. We applied adequate sun protection so everything was fine. We then went home and Logan took a nap. Our fun day was not over though. We went to my parents house and had a BBQ and then went swimming. After swimming we went to Leah and Aarons for Fireworks and desert. We got home at about 11:00 and crashed. What a great day!

We had a great time at the zoo. Our friend Susan gave us some passes for the day. We really appreciated it. Logan was really into the animals and knew what most of them were. A lady called the gorilla a monkey and Logan said "It's not a monkey. It's a Gorilla". He was scared of the real cows but liked the plastic one. A fun day was had by all.

We had a little Valentine's get together at our house. I decided that it would be fun to invite Logan's little friends over to decorate cupcakes. It was sooooo much fun. Logan and I made the cupcakes in the morning he licked the beaters for the first time. (Before I put eggs in) Oh and I washed the beaters after he licked them. We enjoyed another New Years at my parents house in the bar room. The evening went fast. Smaller crowd than usual due to the weather. More snow URG!!! I made a new drink this year. I got the recipe from food network. It was Frosty Lemon Meringue martini. It was really yummy.

It was pretty sweet though so one was the limit. We really had a good time as did the kids. We can't wait till next year.

Christmas was really great. It was really low key this year because of the snow. My moms sister and her family couldn't make it because of the weather. Kevin and I spent the night in fear that we wouldn't make it back. My sister and Aaron picked up Jase and we all just hung out all day playing with the kids toys. Kevin and I spent another night there because we didn't want to shovel snow in the dark.

It has been a tradition in our family for my dad to read Twas the night before Christmas. He read it to Leah and I until we got married and then started up again on Alex's first Christmas. Here he is reading to the grand kids.

Logan on our homade sled. We drilled two holes in a Rubbermaid container lid and tied a rope to it. He loved it.

I really enjoyed the snow in the begining,but I am a little sick of it now. We have dug out our driveway and street more times than I can count. Our pipes froze. We woke up to no water one morning. Kevin and I looked up solutions to this problem on the internet. We got our answer. So at 4 am Kevin was under the house in 8 degree weather armed with my hairdryer and a walkie talkie. He found the un covered section of pipe and used the hairdryer to thaw it out. I used the walkie talkie to tell him when the water was running. High fives for us we worked as a team!!

Logan doesn't last long in the snow. He takes his mittens off when they get snow on them and within minutes he is saying "Want to go in Logan's house" .

Logan loved Halloween this year. This was the year of Star Wars. Logan was Chewbacca, Alex was Anikan,and Emily was Anikans pad wan Ahsoka. Leah and Aaron also dressed up. Leah was Queen Amidala and Aaron was Darth Vader. We had a great time. We went trick or treating down town. Logan started out nice and polite saying trick or treat and remembering to say thank you,by the end he was trying to grab hand fulls of candy and would run to the next store. He had more candy yesterday than he has had in his whole life. Before yesterday the only candy he new existed was M&Ms now he knows there is much more out there. We then went to Leah and Aarons to have dinner. After dinner we went trick or treating in Leahs neighborhood. Logan didn't last long nor did we think he would. Alex and Emily went on and we took Logan to Uncle Jasons house and then to both grandparents house. It was a long day for Logan. He fell asleep on the way home. He had a great time though.

Logan is a very lucky little boy. He was born on my dads birthday so they get to spend there special day together. Pop Pop turned 55 and Logan turned 2. Logan picked the theme of the party. Thomas of course. My mom made the cake. This is really special because she has always made the kids cakes she used to make mine when I was a little girl. We have not found a character that she couldn't do. Logan really liked his cake. Thank you mom. We had a great evening. We started out the night with a dinner at Red Robin. Logan clapped along to the singing and was just so excited about the sundae. We then went to my parents house for cake and presents. Logan is set for quite a while.

We made spiders out of oreo cookies and pretzels then made a ghost out of a tootsie roll pop and coffee filter. This was really fun. Logan really got into it, he even put the eyes on by himself. He really enjoyed eating them.

Stoney Ridge October 11,2008

We had a great time at Stoney Ridge Farm. We being Kevin,Logan,My mom,My dad, Alex,Emily, and of course me. Leah and Aaron were in Hawaii that is why they were not there. We went on a hay ride,walked through a corn maze, picked out pumpkins, looked at farm animals, and did our traditional line up to see how big the kids had gotten. So I also added 2 pictures of Alex and Emily the first time I went to Stoney Ridge with them. Notice that Logan has the same coat on that Emily had on back in 2005, The coat was originally Alex's. I also didn't realize how much Logan and Emily look alike.

Logan Loves to read his papers. He has the Thomas the tank engine papers that he studies for long periods of time. I ended up laminating them so they wouldn't rip.Here he is reading his papers as he eats breakfast.

Logan loves trains. He got the train bug at Leah's house and has been eating and sleeping trains ever since. He asks to read Percy and the dragon Then Percy's chocolate crunch,then Salty's Secret, and last but not least A bad day for Harold the Helicopter in that order. We repeat the process about ten times a day. He sleeps with Percy's chocolate crunch. He also sleeps with his Thomas the tank engine clutched in his hand. His great grandma sent him Birthday money early just so we could get him some trains. He loves them. I cleaned out Logan's closet and drawers this weekend. I had a box of clothes from Leah that had a bunch of clothes that were Alex's. In the box was Thomas underwear. He wanted it on right away. He then took the extra pair and wanted to wear it as a hat. We are on the list at the library for some new train books to break the monotony.

We have had a fun summer. We built a new deck and have really been enjoying it. We also spent a day at the woodland park zoo and the Aquarium. Logan seemed to really like the Aquarium. His favorite thing at the zoo were these buttons that made farm animal sounds. We must have gone back to those buttons about a dozen times. Logan also liked the komodo dragon statue. Alyssa and Nichol joined us for slip and slide fun.

Logan tried out Alex and Emily's slip and slide on Friday afternoon he had a great time. Logan couldn't get enough slip and slide action. He decided to try it again after a quick trip to the sand box, lets just say sand + water=MUD. He had fun thats all that matters. On Saturday we went to Hovander park with Grandma Lori. Logan is in love with Peacocks. He has a book with a peacock in it and he spends a good portion of the day talking about the peacocks. He was so excited to see them at Hovander. We had a hard time getting him away from them. We also got to see some baby peacocks. I had never seen baby peacocks before. Are they called chicks? Who Knows? They were very cute. Logan also got to sit on a tractor. We had a great time. We hope to do it again soon.

We have officially started time out for Logan. I took some pictures of him on his naughty towel. He actually sat there for his minute and a half. I was really surprised. He only gets the naughty spot if he hits someone or doesn't listen when told not to do something. ( after at least 2 warnings for the not listening) He just looked cute during his first time out I had to take a picture of it.

Kevin and I decided that it would be fun to take Logan to the farmers market,we had fun Logan not so much. He is not a huge fan of crowds and he was only happy when we were on the perimeter of the market. He did enjoy the huge strawberry muffins that the have there.

We have been really busy. I went to California for Kevin's graduation from USC. I left Logan for the first time. He stayed with Grandma Lori for 3 days. I really missed him. Kevin and I had a good time though. We stayed out late and we went on a harbor cruise. I flew back and Kevin drove. Then we had Mothers Day, Ski to Sea,Kevin's Birthday, my grandparents came from South Carolina for a visit, My Aunt Debbie and cousin Robert came up at the same time from Arizona, A day trip to Friday Harbor, A Spa Day for me, Fathers Day, and getting used to living together as a family again.

Logan is talking a lot. His favotite sentence is- ICE HEEM CONE M&M's on top. His favorite pass time is playing BASKIMO (AKA Basketball). He likes to sing the alphabet song. He is really good at it . He can jump, and he can count to ten.

Logan has two favorite vegetables broccoli & cauliflower. He definitely did not get that from me. I eat them now but I think I was 29 before I would eat broccoli and 32 before I would eat cauliflower. Logan still isn't real fond of fruit,but I will keep trying. Logan has been saying a lot of new words- Hat, apple, milk, mommy, daddy, Alex, Emily, Elmo, up please, baby, hair, eyes and many more. I didn't realize how many he new until I started typing them out. Oh and the most popular word of all BUCK. Buck is a deer head that talks. Buck is on the wall in my parents bar room. When Logan gets to my parents house the first thing he says is Buck. He will watch Buck for a good half hour or so.

A Fun Day at the pumpkin patch

I am exited to tell you that Logan will be a year old tomorrow. We have managed to keep him alive and healthy for one year. Logan is also walking. He took his first step on September 27,2007. He can now walk across the room. He can say a few words (duck is his favorite).
We went to the pumpkin patch. He was more interested in the rocks than he was in the pumpkins. He liked watching all the animals there. His favorite was the roosters.
We celebrated his Birthday last night so that my dad and Kevins mom could make it (they work weekends). He had a great birthday grandma Lori made him a bear cake. It was the same cake I had for my first birthday. It was nice to be able to celebrate not only Logans first Birthday but my dads 54th. Logan was born on his birthday. We enjoyed the evening very much. The guests included : Logans great grandma Grace, grandma Judy, grandma Lori, grandpa Howard, Uncle Jason, Aunt Leah, Alex and Emily, and serogate grandma Donna.

We have had quite a busy summer. Logan went to his first family reunion outside of the womb. He was a little unsure about all the new people but he did great. We went on our first vacation/road trip since Logan was born. We went to Lake Chelan to visit Aunt Amanda and Uncle Mike and then to visit GG and Pepere in Moses Lake. Logan did great. Kevin and I were nervous about how he would sleep and travel, and once again we were way more worried about the whole thing than we needed to be. Logan stayed awake all the way to Lake Chelan. He was so excited. We went to grandpa Howard's work picnic were Logan not only got to meet the one and only Splash the otter (Haggens Mascot), but he also got to go in a bouncy house and play in the water at the splash park. Logan is walking around furniture and pulling himself up on everything. He is also climbing stairs. YIKES! He is trying new foods. He liked Pepere's Rigatoni.
He loves cream cheese. He likes to lick the cream cheese off of his bagels and throw the bagels on the floor.

Logan has found his new favorite pass time SWIMMING. He loves it. We tried him out in the pool two weeks ago he can't get enough of it. He went to Alex and Emily's swim lesson and ended up playing in the water. He wants to be a good swimmer just like his cousins. Practice Practice Practice he keeps saying to himself.

Happy fourth of July everyone! Logan enjoyed the fourth so much he decided not to nap all day. We wouldn't want to miss anything now would we. We had a busy day. We went to Oak Harbor in the morning for the annual fourth of July parade, then we went to Harriet and Franks for a BBQ, next we went to My sisters house for another BBQ and fireworks. We didn't stay for fireworks because Logan was a very tired boy. Logan is eating like crazy he likes just about anything. His favorite pass time is taking a bath. We put him in a bath whenever he gets cranky(Which isn't very often). Things are going well for all of us I have had the past week off . I have really enjoyed the extra time with Logan. I have joined Weight Watchers again (Katie I was inspired by your recent weight loss) Great job! I lost 60 lbs last time so I know it works. I lost 5.2 lbs last week. I will keep everyone posted. Kevin has the rest of the week off . He went Kayaking with his brother today and really enjoyed it. That is all for now.

We've had quite an eventful month. We did the Haggen to Haggen walk on May 3. This was Logan's second time doing it (his first on the "outside"), but he slept through most of it. We had the Ski to Sea race on Memorial Day Weekend followed by Alex's final gym show later in the week and then his Preschool Graduation. On one of the Weekends Emily spent the night and both she and Logan really enjoyed it (as did we). WHEW!!! We've been busy.

Logan is growing like a weed. He's sleeping though the night in his own crib and rolling around like crazy trying to get into stuff. He is eating a lot of new foods and so far green beans are his favorite. We're looking forward to lots of adventures with Logan this summer.

Logan has been very interested in food lately. He has been grabbing our food and trying to eat it himself. When we take it away he throws a fit. I was going to wait until Logan was 6 months before we started him on food, but we couldn't take the face of a sad boy any longer. We started with rice cereal - not his favorite! Logan prefers oatmeal. He is no longer a sad boy. He likes to help us with the feeding process because we just aren't fast enough.

Well Easter went really great. We went to church in the morning, then went to Donna and Ricks for Brunch , then went to coffee with Kevins cousin Leah and her husband Keith, And last we went to my mom and dads for dinner. Whew!!! what a busy day. Logan did really well, I was suprised. Logan wore his little suit that my mom had gotten him. He then changed into his little chicky outfit that Aunt Leah got him. You gotta love his cool shades. The Easter bunny brought him sun glasses, shoes, a tooth brush, and a ball. Easter Sunday was also Leah's 30th birthday. I took a lot of pictures. Alex and Emily Look so nice in there Easter clothes. Emily didn't want to take off her beautiful dress. Logan was soo smiley . I have a lot more pictures so hopefully I can get to this blog again this weekend.

A Lot Of Activities Lately!!!!

Well A lot has been going on in Logans life lately. First of all I think he might be teething, he is constantly chewing on his fingers and ours.

We had a baby shower at our house for my friend Nichol, We had a really good time. There is a picture of my friend Lori with her son Andrew( He is a month younger than Logan). My friends Keva and Molly came down from Canada with there son Kale. ( He is a year and a half. This was the first time I had met Kale.) Nichol is looking great her baby is due in one month. Logan and his friends Andrew and Evelyn just talking to each other on the floor.(Evelyn is a month older than Logan.)

We went to Alex's spring show. He is getting so big. He can do all kind of flips and rolls. I was really impressed and really proud of him. When the show was over Emily, Leah and Logan posed for a picture.

Logan's great grandma Grace came over and spent some time with us. Great Grandma grace finally got to hold Logan. Grandma Judy finally got her picture taken with Logan. I have been trying to get a picture of them together for quite a while. Grandma Lori came over and watched Logan for the day at our house. Logan must have had a great day because he was laughing soo hard at his daddy. I got him laughing pretty hard myself. We just purchased an exersaucer, Logan is not so sure of it though.

We have been taking a lot of walks in the neighborhood lately. Logan likes to fall asleep in the front carrier. I cought Logan And Daddy taking a snooze on the couch.

Logan is doing a lot of new things now. He can almost roll from back to tummy (only if that darn arm wasn't there). He can drink a few sips of water out of a cup, We really don't want him drinking water, but he gets really upset when we eat or drink in front of him. He loves bubbles. When I pop them, he laughs until he can hardly breath. He is sleeping in his crib in his own room now. Everyone sleeps much better. He goes to bed @ 8 and sleeps until 3 then I feed him and he usually sleeps until about 6. Logans friend finnagan came to play. Here is a picture of two very sad boys (they were tired). I am amazed that every day Logan looks more like his daddy. I haven't posted for a while, because we have all been sick. Logan got RSV which has really worried us. Logan is tough though he smiles and laughs even when he feels yucky. Hope everyone enjoys the latest pics of Logan. On Saturday we had our baby reunion for our childbirth class. Kevin and I hosted it so that we would not have to have it at a restaurant. What fun we had. There were 7 couples in our class one couple couldn't make it so there were six babies 3 boys and 3 girls. For the amount of babies there were, the crying was really kept to a minimum. They were all so good and so cute. We really enjoyed it. Hopefully we can have some play dates. Logan was second oldest and he was still the lightest but not the shortest. Logan fell asleep right before the group photo so in one picture he is still asleep. Enjoy the pictures!!!!

Logan is getting big. He is holding his head up for tummy time, smiling, laughing, and going crazy in his bouncy seat. January 15 was my 31st birthday.(It seriously feels like I was just 21 has it really been ten years?) Anyway my mom made my birthday cake using fondant. I had bought the fondant last year for her and I really wanted her to try it out,as you can see it looks great.

New years was a blast. As you can see Leah, Katie, my aunt Debbie, and I are all taking a shot of pucker. Logan can be seen sleeping in the front carrier. Is that bad???? : Logan loves his changing table. I wish we could carry it around with us. We get the most smiles out of him there.

We all had a wonderful Christmas. We made candy as we do every year (Emily and Leah are making mounds) Logan was a great present this year. I stuck him under the tree like a package. I also dressed him up like Santa, and you can see how much he liked being dressed up like a bear. He had his cousins to comfort him though. Emily loves to care for Logan. She is like a little mother to him. Alex made many ornaments this year. Our tree was lucky enough to have several of Alex's ornaments.

Well Hello everyone. I am hoping to keep everyone up to date with all the baby happenings. I also hope I will be able to share pictures with everyone. This is my first real attempt at doing this so wish me luck.
